Richard Laraway, 70, of Seymour, passed away at the Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour on Thursday, March 20, 2025, with his family by his side. Richard was born on April 27, 1954, in Seymour, IN. He was the son of Roscoe Nelson and Betty Ruth (Franklin) Laraway.
He worked in a factory in Bloomington, Indiana on the Assembly line for many years. Richard loved singing and playing the piano. He greatly enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing, watching movies, and spending time with his family. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Surviving to cherish the memory of Richard is his brother, Rock (Pamala) Laraway of Seymour; stepmother, Neva Laraway of Madison; stepbrother, Doug (Elle) Lee of Madison; stepsister, Jo Spray of Madison; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe Nelson and Betty Laraway; and two brothers, Roger Allen Laraway and Larry Daniel Laraway.
Funeral services for Richard will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Burkholder Funeral Chapel in Seymour, with Rev. Doug Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, and from 10:00 am until the time of service on Thursday, March 27, 2025, both at the funeral home.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jon Pace and Scotty Wessel at the Burkholder Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Seymour.
