
SOUTHERN INDIANA—Residents of Southwestern Indiana facing civil legal challenges can now access free legal advice through a dedicated hotline. The Volunteer Lawyer Program of Southwestern Indiana offers a unique opportunity to speak directly with a civil legal aid attorney, who can provide crucial guidance on a range of legal matters.

The free legal advice hotline is available on the first Thursday of each month from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (CST) and the third Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. (CST). Residents can call either 812-618-4845 or 888-594-3449 to connect with an attorney.
The hotline covers a wide array of civil legal topics, including but not limited to:
- Divorce, Child Support, Custody, and Parenting Time
- Eviction and Foreclosure
- Collections and Driver’s License Issues
- Protective Orders and Expungement
- Name and Gender Marker Changes
- Estate Planning, Military, Immigration, and Employment
The hotline can answer most civil legal questions. Callers will be provided with valuable resources and referrals if a direct answer is not immediately available.
The Volunteer Lawyer Program serves residents in Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Martin, Perry, and several other counties.
