Storm cleanup continues in Orleans

ORLEANSStorm Clean-up continues in Orleans following last weekend’s EF-1 tornado, which caused significant damage in and around the community.

Town Crews and contractors will be picking up limbs, brush, and lawn debris placed at the curbside all next week. Residents are asked to have these items placed or stacked near the street for pick-up.

A large dumpster will be set up at the Town Garage area March 24-29, with extended evening hours for residents to bring storm-related debris and other items of discard (not limbs or brush). This is for Orleans residents only.

Residents who can do so and have downed trees, limbs, and brush are also being encouraged to take those items to the town lake brush pile for disposal. The gate to access that area will remain unlocked. ONLY TREES, LIMBS, AND BRUSH WILL BE ACCEPTED; NO OTHER ITEMS WILL BE DISCARDED. The lake site is monitored 24/7.

For more details on storm-related matters, please call the Orleans Town Hall at (812) 865 – 2539 during regular business hours.
