All-Options Hoosier Diaper Program to be adopted by Tandem

MONROE CO. – After 10 years of serving families in Bloomington and Monroe County with free diapers, period products, as well as other parenting and sexual health supplies, All-Options is rehoming its beloved Hoosier Diaper Program (HDP) and Period Equity Program (PEP) with Tandem, who will continue to serve the people of Bloomington and South-Central Indiana.

HDP and PEP serve hundreds of individuals and families every month. With so many residents struggling to make ends meet, they must know where and how they can continue to get the supplies they need.

In February, All-Options shared that they are facing a real possibility of closing their organization by the end of June 2025. They have been assessing ways to sustain All-Options in a significantly reduced and/or restructured capacity, and sadly, they can no longer sustain HDP and PEP. All-Options will continue to operate the Hoosier Abortion Fund (HAF), Indiana’s first and only statewide abortion fund, as well as continue to provide diapers for HAF clients upon request.

All-Options is providing an in-kind donation of its remaining supplies to Tandem. These include diapers, period supplies, emergency contraception, baby clothing, and parenting supplies. The last day of supply distribution at All-Options will be Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Tandem will begin distributing supplies on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

“Rehoming our programs was a difficult decision for us, and one that was not made lightly,” said Taja Lindley, Interim Executive Director of All-Options. “Tandem is an organization we trust to provide people and families with the same care and compassion we offer at All-Options. We hold the same values and a commitment to providing services without coercion or judgment. We are deeply grateful that Tandem has agreed to adopt these programs and help ensure that people in the Bloomington area can still access the services they rely on.”

“With much love and deep respect, I’ve had the honor to work with, and for, the families and children served by the Hoosier Diaper Program since 2017,” said Jessica Marchbank, Indiana Programs Manager for All-Options. “Whether with diapers and wipes, pull-ups, potty training support, pregnancy tests, pads, tampons, emergency contraception, or just a supportive and compassionate ear — we’ve shared a lot together! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of the community that made all this possible.”

“The Hoosier Diaper Program aligns exceptionally well with existing Tandem programming and services, particularly with our ‘Free Room,’ which provides free supplies to families in the community,” said Tandem Co-Founder and Executive Director Julie Duhon. “Every month, Tandem has over 200 drop-in visits from families to access supplies and educational resources, and diaper support is a common request. We are excited to be able to be a one-stop shop now for many of these families. We also run a period equity program, and the absorption of PEP from All-Options will help ensure expanded access to the program for our seven-county service area.”

About Diaper Need and Period Poverty

According to the National Diaper Bank Network, one in two families in the United States is affected by diaper needs. Diaper needs force families to cut back on other essentials. Meanwhile, inadequate access to diapers can significantly impact health, leading to diaper rash, urinary tract infections, and other serious issues. Similarly, reliable access to period supplies is crucial for people to maintain their health, dignity, and full participation in daily life.

The diaper need crisis is amidst an ongoing economic crisis for many people and families in Indiana, an impending recession, and a state government that has demonstrated no interest in investing in the kind of care and services children and families need and deserve.
