All-way stop coming to State Road 45 in Bloomington

MONROE CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to install an all-way stop at the State Road 45 and Smith Road intersection in Bloomington on or after Friday, March 28.

Installation work is expected to take up to one day, weather permitting. Stop-ahead warning signs and flashers will also be installed. We encourage drivers to approach the intersection cautiously as they become familiar with the change.

The installation of the all-way stop aims to improve safety and mobility by reducing the potential for right-angle crashes at the intersection. Sight distance management work has also been done at the intersection to help enhance motorists’ visibility.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
