BEDFORD— The Bedford Board of Zoning Appeals voted unanimously Tuesday to approve a special exception permit for a resident in the 1000 block of N Street to operate a firearm repair business from home.
The decision followed a public hearing held at the City Concourse. The applicant stated that the business will primarily focus on applying Hydro-Dip custom finishes to firearms.
Approval from the local zoning board is required before the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) will consider issuing a license to operate a firearm-related business.
The board’s vote clears the way for the applicant to proceed with the ATF licensing process. No public opposition to the request was noted during the hearing.
