
EDINBURGH– A mobile home in Edinburgh was destroyed by fire on Sunday, resulting in the tragic loss of five pet cats. Authorities report that the residence was unoccupied at the time of the blaze.

According to Edinburgh Police Chief Doyne Little Jr., officers and firefighters responded to a call about a fire in the 400 block of Piatts Trailer Court. Upon arrival, they found the mobile home engulfed in flames.
Chief Little confirmed that the renters were not home when the fire broke out.
The mobile home sustained total loss from the fire, and sadly, five cats perished in the incident. One Edinburgh police officer was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but no other injuries were reported.
The Edinburgh Police Department expressed gratitude to the assisting agencies, which included the German Township, Trafalgar, Amity, and Nineveh fire departments, for their prompt response and support in battling the fire.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
