New operating hours for Forest Service Offices

BEDFORD – Hoosier National Forest offices in Bedford and Tell City will have new operating hours and days starting the week of March 30, 2025.

These offices offer public services, including national forest information and sales of America the Beautiful passes, Trail Use Permits, national forest maps, firewood permits, and nature-related merchandise such as clothing and books.

Beginning March 30, both offices will be open for public services Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. until Noon and 1:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. local time.

The Forest Service is committed to providing public services to the best of our capacity. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment to ensure that appropriate staff will be available to process firewood permits.

Visitor information, including free trail maps and the sale of permits and passes, is available online. Details are on the Hoosier National Forest website.
