MITCHELL—Orange County REMC’s contractor is installing fiber optic cable along Hancock Avenue to service Mitchell Schools, but the work has disrupted local water and sewer lines.
Officials said that despite using the boring method of installation and obtaining proper locations, the contractor has hit water and sewer lines in the area.
Residents experiencing water loss or sewer line issues are encouraged to contact the Mitchell Water Department at (812) 849-4168. The department will coordinate with the contractor to address any necessary repairs.
No timeline was given for the completion of the project.
