SPRINGVILLE – A Springville man has been charged with felony criminal conversion after a stolen vehicle was discovered on his property during the execution of a search warrant.
Anthony Dike, 57, of Springville, is accused of unauthorized motor vehicle control, a Level 6 felony, stemming from an incident in January 2022.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Indiana State Police Trooper Chance Humphrey, a search warrant was executed at Dike’s residence in the 1000 block of Popcorn Road on Thursday, March 20, 2024. The warrant was issued in connection with a stolen vehicle believed to be located on the property.
During the search, Trooper Humphrey located a vehicle confirmed through dispatch to have been stolen from Bedford on January 7, 2022. The Bedford Police Department, which initially took the stolen vehicle report, indicated that the vehicle was not needed for evidence purposes.
While Trooper Humphrey located the vehicle, Trooper Ben Burris spoke with Dike. According to the affidavit, Dike stated that Aidan Jones had been staying at the property and brought the car there approximately two years prior, when it was reported stolen. Dike also told Trooper Burris that Jones had begun dismantling the car in an attempt to dispose of it. Dike indicated that Jones was no longer at the property and was believed to be incarcerated.
Trooper Humphrey subsequently arranged for Jackson’s Heavy Haul to remove the stolen vehicle from the property.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
