LAWRENCE CO.– Officials from the Lawrence County Health Department have issued a stark warning to the public following a surge in overdose cases within the past 24 hours. Worryingly, these cases have shown resistance to multiple doses of Narcan, a life-saving opioid reversal medication.
The health department’s alert comes as the Bloomington Police Department, located in neighboring Monroe County, has been responding to a series of unusually severe overdoses.
In a public statement, health officials emphasized the potential for dangerous drug batches to spread, noting that incidents originating in Bloomington and Monroe County often impact residents of Lawrence County.
