BEDFORD – School Smiles Dental Care will provide on-site dental services to Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) High School students on Thursday, April 24, 2025. The services will include cleanings and other dental care without requiring students to miss school or parents to miss work.
The program aims to provide accessible dental care to students. School Smiles offers a range of services and refers students to local providers for needs beyond their scope.
Registration for the on-site dental services is available online at www.schoolsmiles.com/student-signup, via a QR code on flyers and registration forms, or by returning completed registration forms to school nurses Holly or Tina. Early registration is encouraged to secure a spot.
School Smiles accepts various insurance plans, including Medicaid, which covers the visit at 100% with no patient billing. Private insurance is also accepted, with any potential co-pays or deductibles communicated to parents upon registration. The program also offers a self-pay option for uninsured students at a discounted rate of $49, which includes cleaning, x-rays, prophylaxis, fluoride treatment, and sealants.
Additionally, a grant foundation is available for students without dental insurance, potentially covering the entire visit cost. Interested parents should indicate this on the registration form, although grant approval is not guaranteed.
The school emphasizes the connection between dental health and academic performance and encourages parents to take advantage of this opportunity.
