Mulch fire draws multiple fire departments in Jackson County

CROTHERSVILLE– Several fire departments battled a significant mulch fire in Crothersville, near Interstate 65.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Dispatch, the fire was reported at approximately 1:30 p.m. Friday at Sims Bark, a mulch supplier.

The incident generated a large plume of smoke visible to drivers along the interstate. Firefighters from multiple agencies are working to contain and extinguish the blaze.
