ODON – Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. has broken ground on a new $50 million, 68,000-square-foot facility at the WestGate@Crane Technology Park near Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division in Odon.
The Indiana Payload Integration Facility (IPIF) will support the company’s development of hypersonic technologies. It is expected to create over 100 high-tech jobs, with an average annual wage exceeding $80,000.
The facility, slated for operational readiness by late 2026, will focus on critical hypersonic launch programs, including the Multi-Service Advanced Capabilities Hypersonic Testbed (MACH-TB). It will feature advanced testing capabilities and strengthen collaboration with military and industry partners.

Governor Mike Braun speaks at groundbreaking for Kratos at WestGate Tech Park.
This investment follows Kratos’s recent announcement of a new energetics and solid rocket motor production facility in Bloomfield, also near NSWC Crane. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) has committed up to $9 million in tax credits and additional incentives to support Kratos’ growth in Indiana. Kratos plans to expand further and create up to 628 jobs by 2029.
Kratos, a leader in hypersonic technology, is the prime contractor for the MACH-TB 2.0 program. Governor Mike Braun emphasized the facility’s importance in solidifying Indiana’s position as a national leader in defense innovation and advanced manufacturing.
