Martin County receives $90,000 grant for Juvenile Diversion Program

MARTIN CO. — Martin County Community Corrections has been awarded a $90,000 grant from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (ICJI) to bolster its juvenile diversion program.

The grant will fund a part-time Juvenile Case Manager, who plays a crucial role in providing alternative options for youth involved in the justice system.

The newly funded position will facilitate collaboration between Martin County Community Corrections, the Martin County Probation Department, and the Circuit Court. The Juvenile Case Manager will provide comprehensive case management, focusing on rehabilitating young offenders and guiding them towards positive outcomes.

Officials anticipate that this program will significantly impact the lives of Martin County’s youth, offering them opportunities for rehabilitation and preventing future involvement in the criminal justice system. By providing targeted support and guidance, the program aims to positively influence the future trajectory of these young individuals.
