“The 4O’Clock Hour” exhibit brings diverse art to Waldron Arts Center

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington’s John Waldron Arts Center is showcasing a vibrant group exhibition, “The 4 O’Clock Hour,” featuring the works of five local artists: Dawn Adams, Meg Lagodzki, Ellen Starr Lyon, Sarah Pearce, and Christy Weezer. The show, running throughout April in the Rosemary P. Miller Gallery, highlights a range of mediums, including oil paintings, large collages, drawings, and glasswork.

The artists meet monthly at 4:00 p.m. for critique and support and present distinct interpretations of nature through realism, symbolism, modernism, and abstraction. The exhibit reflects the group’s dedication to artistic growth and community building.

The opening reception will be held during the First Friday Gallery Walk on April 4 from 5 to 8 p.m.. A closing event, featuring an artist talk, is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, with doors opening at 5:30 PM and the talk beginning at 6:00 PM.

Artist Highlights:

  • Dawn Adams focuses on nature, particularly water and sky, and her imagery aims to provide a sense of calm and healing.
  • Meg Lagodzki creates collages and acrylic paintings inspired by nature, addressing environmental concerns and the connection to the natural world.
