Indiana Chamber urges lawmakers to Preserve Critical reform in Healthcare Bill

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Vanessa Green Sinders is urging state legislators to keep up the momentum with House Bill 1003, as amended, which takes much-needed steps to deliver faster, fairer, more transparent medical care to Hoosiers and keeps costs in check for patients and employers:

“The Indiana Chamber applauds the Senate Health and Provider Services Committee for its unanimous support of the amended version of House Bill 1003. The revised bill thoughtfully addresses many of our concerns during testimony and represents meaningful progress toward improving healthcare transparency, access, and accountability in Indiana.

“We are especially encouraged by the bill’s focused approach to pricing transparency, more efficient and transparent prior authorization rules, stronger surprise billing protections, and streamlined credentialing to support workforce mobility. These are practical reforms that simplify the system and improve patient access.

“As the bill moves to the Senate Appropriations Committee, we urge that group and the full Senate to preserve these critical reforms. House Bill 1003, as amended, reflects a balanced and pragmatic approach to improving Indiana’s healthcare system.”
