MONROE CO—The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce that Gary Edwards, who was previously reported missing, has been found safe and returned to his residence.
On Saturday, April 5, 2025, at approximately 11:23 AM, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a call from Mr. Edwards’ family confirming his safe return. Deputies were able to verify this information.
According to the report, Mr. Edwards was located by his family at a business on the west side of the county that he was known to frequent.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office expressed its sincere gratitude to the Monroe County community for their swift response to the call for assistance in locating Mr. Edwards. They acknowledged the numerous tips and information provided by the public, which greatly aided the effort.
Mr. Edwards’s safe finding has removed him from the missing persons list, and the Indiana Silver Alert that was previously issued has been canceled.
