Mitchell Jr. High band earns Gold rating at ISSMA Assessment

GEORGETOWN– The Mitchell Junior High School Band achieved a significant milestone on Saturday, April 5th, earning the highest possible rating of Gold at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Assessment held at Highland Hills Middle School in Georgetown, Indiana.

This prestigious Gold rating marks a notable achievement for the Mitchell Jr. High School band program, representing their first Gold rating in many years.

The 55-member band, directed by Paul Pfeifer, showcased its musical talent and dedication by performing three challenging pieces: “Ancient Stone Circles,” “The Water Is Wide,” and “As Winds Dance.” Their exceptional performance resonated with the ISSMA judges, leading to the coveted Gold rating.
