GEORGETOWN– The Mitchell Junior High School Band achieved a significant milestone on Saturday, April 5th, earning the highest possible rating of Gold at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Assessment held at Highland Hills Middle School in Georgetown, Indiana.
This prestigious Gold rating marks a notable achievement for the Mitchell Jr. High School band program, representing their first Gold rating in many years.
The 55-member band, directed by Paul Pfeifer, showcased its musical talent and dedication by performing three challenging pieces: “Ancient Stone Circles,” “The Water Is Wide,” and “As Winds Dance.” Their exceptional performance resonated with the ISSMA judges, leading to the coveted Gold rating.
This accomplishment is a testament to the students’ and their director’s hard work and commitment. The Mitchell community and school are undoubtedly proud of the band’s outstanding performance and their successful representation at the ISSMA Assessment.
