BNL’s McKnight, Gomez and Spreen named All-HHC

BNL’s Chloe McKnight was named All-HHC by the league coaches for the second straight season.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence’s Chloe McKnight, Irye Gomez and Chloe Spreen were named to the All-Hoosier Hills Conference team by the league coaches.

McKnight, a senior on her way to Saint Francis, averaged 13.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game as the Stars finished 22-3. She also finished fifth on the school’s career scoring list while making the First Team for the second straight season.

Gomez, a senior destined for Lindsey Wilson, also made a repeat appearance on the All-HHC squad. She averaged 12.0 points and 2.7 steals as BNL won its 10th straight sectional championship.

BNL’s Irye Gomez was selected to the All-HHC team for the second time.

Spreen, ranked one of the top freshmen in the nation, led the Stars in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (5.5).

Columbus East, which won the HHC title, placed three on the First Team with junior Koryn Greiwe (16.3 points, 4.6 assists), sophomore Leah Bachmann (9.5 points, 6.4 rebounds) and sophomore Sage Stahl (9.8 points).

The rest of the First Team included Jennings County freshman Juliann Woodard (17.5 points, 11.2 rebounds) and senior Addyson Kent (12.2 points), Madison’s Jade Nutley and Seymour’s Grace Meyer (13.2 points, 6.9 rebounds).

Columbus East’s Danny Brown was named Coach of the Year.

BNL sophomore Karsyn Norman was named Honorable Mention. Norman averaged 9.5 points and 3.2 assists.

BNL freshman Chloe Spreen led the Stars in scoring and rebounding to earn All-HHC honors.
