JEFFERSONVILLE – Seymour opened the Class 4A sectional with a three-set sweep of Bedford North Lawrence during high school volleyball action on Thursday night.
The Owls, who also swept the Stars during the regular-season clash at BNL on Oct. 4, advanced with a 25-18, 25-9, 25-13 win over BNL (2-22).
In the opposite bracket, sectional favorite and Hoosier Hills Conference champion Floyd Central hammered Jennings County 25-8, 25-18, 25-16.
Seymour (28-4) will face Jeffersonville (10-20) in the first semifinal on Saturday morning. The Highlanders (26-6) will collide with New Albany (18-12) in the second semifinal, and those winners will return to collide in the championship on Saturday night.
The sectional champion will advance to the regional at Bloomington North on Oct. 22 and face the sectional winner from Bloomington South in the first semifinal.
