BEDFORD – The Bedford Parks Department will be offering rides to the Carmel Christkindlmarkt on Monday, December 19th, with departure set for 9 a.m. from the parks office at 1625 Q Street.
The cost per individual to ride with the group is $15, and any additional spending for food or gifts is up to each individual. The group will return to Bedford by 3 p.m.
The Carmel Christkindlmarkt is the premier holiday offering in Indiana, offering the experience of the old-world charm of Christmas in Germany.
Guests can peruse a vast variety of products sourced from Germany and other German-speaking European countries. A blend of traditional German foods, drinks and gifts are sold from small wooden huts, and a beautiful outdoor ice skating rink forms the center of the market.
Each year, the Carmel Christkindlmarkt hosts world-renowned woodworkers from the Erzgebirge region, who share their craft and culture through demonstrations. And in 2018, the Carmel Christkindlmarkt brought another German tradition to the market: the iconic Glühwein Pyramid. It’s the first of its kind in the United States.
Those interested in going can contact the Parks Department at (812) 275-5692.
