Indiana Management Performance Hub (MPH) is now hiring for summer 2023 interns

INDIANA – The Indiana Management Performance Hub (MPH) is now hiring for summer 2023 interns and the applications are now listed on the Work For Indiana job site. All internships listed below are part of the Governor’s Public Service Summer Internship Program in Indiana. 

The summer internship program provides participants the opportunity to work with state agency officials, as well as participate in co-curricular components to enrich their experience. Interns spend at least 50 percent of their time on predetermined projects that enhance college-level skills and abilities.

Specifically, the agency is hiring interns in data science, legal and communications.   

These are paid internships and interns earn $16.24 per hour. Interns must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate with an accredited post-secondary institution and have completed at least one (1) year of undergraduate education.

Data Science Intern

The Data Science Intern will work with MPH Data Scientists and staff to evaluate current efforts and real-time projects.

Examples of projects include:

  • Test and evaluate data solutions as it relates to upgrades to existing software
  • Mine and analyze data from state databases to drive insights into problems and efficiencies in processes while maintaining the standards of organizational excellence
  • Engage with business stakeholders on projects and initiatives to understand their analytical and operational challenges and translate these needs into data solutions

Legal Research Intern

The Legal Research Intern will assist data-driven decision-making and open data efforts by bolstering the related legal framework.

This position will be leveraged to undertake legal research relating to the privacy of personally identifiable information. The legal intern will assist MPH Legal with compliance and risk management initiatives.

As an intern, you will:

  • Assist with legal research and documentation.
  • Provide support to MPH Legal.
  • Other supporting tasks as needed.

Communications Intern

The Communications Intern assists the State of Indiana’s data-driven decision-making and opens data efforts by supporting the storytelling of users and the impact of data. The position is leveraged to undertake day-to-day communications tasks supporting the larger editorial strategy and gain experience crafting engaging, platform-specific content.

The agency seeks an individual with a strong digital background to assist with internal and external communication efforts. This support would include project-related work in social media, email marketing, web content development, video production, graphic design, layout, writing, and editing.

The MPH Communications Intern will collaborate with team members throughout the agency while reporting to the Communications Director.
