WASHINGTON CO. – On Wednesday morning, Trooper Kyle Taylor arrested two people on multiple felony charges early after a suspected drug-related death.
Late Tuesday evening, Trooper Kyle Taylor responded to a possible drug overdose with deputies from the Scott and Washington County Sheriff’s Departments. The residence is on State Road 39 in Washington County however, it has a Scottsburg address.
When Trooper Taylor arrived, Scott County Deputies were on-scene providing CPR to a female victim who was later identified as 33-year-old Alice Dyan Cook of Scottsburg. EMS transported Cook to the Scott County Hospital. Tragically, despite life-saving measures, Cook was pronounced deceased after arriving at the hospital.
As the investigation continued, Trooper Taylor located heroin and marijuana at the residence.
Trooper Taylor also identified two others present at the address as 35-year-old Errol Reardon and 33-year-old Rachel Gibson, both of Henryville.
As a result of the investigation, Trooper Taylor arrested both Reardon and Gibson on preliminary felony charges of dealing in a controlled substance causing death, dealing and possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.
Officers transported Gibson and Reardon to the Washington County Jail without further incident.
