CAMPBELLSBURG – Three-year-old Norah Richards of Salem needs your help in her fight against AHC (Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood), a one-in-one-million diagnosis.
Children with AHC exhibit a wide range of symptoms. These include tonic attacks (lack of muscle tone), dystonic posturing (stiffening of extremities), ataxia (lack of coordination), nystagmus (fast uncontrollable movements of the eyes), other ocular motor abnormalities, developmental delays, and seizures.
AHC is like having seven disorders at once: stroke, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, ADHD, Autism, and Alzheimer’s disease. This disease wreaks havoc on Norah’s tiny body every single day.
On June 3, 2023, Norah’s CREWsaders will hold its second annual auction and 5k to raise funds for the AHC Foundation to search for a cure. The AHC foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit, tax-exempt organization (EIN: 38-3225425). In addition, a portion of the funds will be set aside in an account to support Norah’s ongoing care and medical needs.
This event will take place at West Washington High School in Campbellsburg, starting at 9:00 a.m. Based on last year’s attendance plus targeted growth, volunteers are expecting anywhere between 200 to 300 people throughout the day.
All of the donors willing to donate items to the live or silent auction will be recognized at the event and on social media leading up to the event. Should you choose to donate, organizers will promote your company logo and/or any branding requirements you may have.
Through the generosity of donors children like Norah have a chance for a cure. You can follow Norah and Norah’s CREWsaders on Facebook.
