INDIANA – GM has issued a voluntary emissions recall for certain examples of the Chevy Low Cab Forward (LCF) 3500 and 4500 equipped with the 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine due to a problem related to the mass airflow (MAF) sensor.
Affected vehicles may have a condition where water can get into the MAF sensor, potentially causing the sensor to fail.
If the MAF sensor were to fail, the Malfunction Indicator Light may illuminate, a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) may be set, and the affected vehicle may have trouble running and operating properly.
Certified GM technicians will be instructed to inspect the MAF sensor and replace it as necessary, free of charge. GM has also instructed techs to wrap the connecting harness in Tesa tape as an extra precaution.

- 2023 Chevy LCF 3500 HD
- 2023 Chevy LCF 4500 HD
At this time, GM has not disclosed how many vehicles are believed to be affected by this recall.
