BEDFORD – A Mitchell man was arrested early Sunday, April 9th after a Bedford Police officer stopped his vehicle for failing to signal a turn off Lincoln Avenue onto N Street and again after turning from N Street onto 4th Street.
The officer approached the driver 37-year-old Lance Stroud, of Mitchell, and informed him of the traffic violations.
While speaking with Stroud the officer detected the odor of alcoholic beverage on Stroud’s breath.
Stroud admitted he had been drinking “a little”.
Stroud performed several field sobriety tests which he failed. He refused to submit to a breathalyzer test. A warrant was requested for a blood draw at IU Health Hospital. Those results are pending.
He was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and OWI endangerment.
At the jail, Stroud did submit to the breathalyzer test and test 0.18.
