MITCHELL – Following a three HR, six RBI performance on Saturday for Mitchell in their 13-1 win over Shoals, Bluejackets’ junior Simon Gaines was nominated for Maxpreps Week 35 Athlete of the Week.
Gaines, along with AJ Budd of Mishawaka, Darius Compton of Monrovia and Noah McPeek of Fishers are nominees for baseball this week. They are all included in a fan vote, which can be accessed here.
Participants may vote as many times as they want. Voting will conclude on Monday.
