ORLEANS – Mitchell High School’s boys and girls teams travelled to Orleans to compete against the Bulldogs on Wednesday.
Though both the boys and girls teams were ultimately defeated, multiple Bluejackets posted event-topping scores.
Mitchell’s boys lost to Orleans 85-38, finishing with two first place finishes.
The first came thanks to Nate Robertson in discus, with a top distance of 146’5″. Gavin Robinson also earned a first place finish for the Bluejackets, winning the 100 with a time of 11.37.
Mitchell’s girls were defeated by the Bulldogs 75-43, ending the event with four firsts.
Two of those came from Jillian Bond, who emerged victorious in both discus (87’2″) and shot put (30’10”).
The other two first place finishes were earned by Allison Hudson in the 100 hurdle (20.22) and the 300 hurdle (56.75).
