AVOCA – Come down to the Avoca Park & Recreation of Marshall Township, located at 3178 Avoca Eureka Road on Saturday, April 29th from Noon until 6 p.m. for an old fashioned ham and bean supper hosted by the Park Board and volunteers.
All proceeds and donations will go toward repairing the bridge wall and bridge piers along the gravel walking trail. Over time the bridge wall has fallen into Goose Creek allowing the soil above to begin to erode.
The Park Board must take immediate action in order to save the bridge and to prevent the project from becoming bigger and more expensive.
Without this bridge, Ponds 7 through 13, the Lookout Shelter House, multiple picnic sights and hiking trails will not be accessible.
The menu will include beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, a drink and a dessert for $7, for those 12 and under for $4. Come and help save the bridge.
