BLOOMINGTON — An Indiana University former football player has been arrested for rape.
IU Police say 20-year-old Connor Delp has been charged with crimes including two counts of rape and sexual battery.
Police began investigating the crime on Nov. 13, 2022, after a woman reported she had been assaulted by an IU football player. She also said a second woman was attacked.
The victim said she and another woman went to Delp’s apartment where they drank and socialized and played video games. However, in the early morning hours of November 11, 2022, Delp ultimately had sex with her against her protests.
Delp had also tried to touch and kiss a second female but stopped after she shoved him off of her.
Police say Delp texted both females afterward. In the messages to the victim, he says she was giving him “mixed signals”.
Delp told police, neither woman told him “no” or seemed uncomfortable. Delp’s attorney says a polygraph test shows that his client is telling the truth.
Delp was suspended from the football team on November 17, 2022.
