BLOOMINGTON – Arts Fair on the Square is returning to Bloomington this June, bringing visual artists and craftspeople together with the local and regional community.
This juried art show features regional and national artists and craftspeople on the picturesque grounds surrounding the Monroe County Courthouse.
The Waldron Arts Center is thrilled to be bringing back this annual event on Saturday, June 24 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Arts Fair on the Square is a family-friendly event that is free and open to the public.
For more than 40 years, Arts Fair on the Square has been one of the premier annual events in Bloomington, earning appreciation from artists from all over the country and patrons from all over Indiana and beyond for their commitment to quality.
The mission of Arts Fair on the Square is to showcase fine art and craft of the highest quality, connect artists with the art-buying community, and promote commitment to the arts through a variety of interactive art experiences.
Historically, Arts Fair on the Square has drawn thousands of visitors to downtown Bloomington to experience the finest visual arts has to offer.
In addition to dozens of artists and vendors, the festival will showcase a variety of community organizations. Applications for community booths are now live and available at ArtsFair.org. These booths provide a great chance to introduce your origination to the community. Participating organizations are encouraged to host an engaging game or activity, solicit contact information for mailing lists, promote classes and upcoming offerings, or offer raffles and other giveaways.
Members of the community are also encouraged to get involved by volunteering. Volunteers are integral to the success of the Arts Fair on the Square.
For this event, organizers are seeking approximately 50 volunteers to work a shift and help out with various tasks throughout the day. As a token of our appreciation, volunteers will be given a pre-event thank-you dinner and receive some cool, complimentary swag. If you are looking to give back and help support the arts by being a volunteer, please sign up at ArtsFair.org. If you have questions contact volunteer@artsfair.org.
During the festival, the Waldron Arts Center will be extending its gallery hours to be open throughout the entirety of the event. The Waldron Arts Center’s bar and concessions will be open throughout the day for those looking for refreshments and a reprieve from the heat.
