INDIANAPOLIS – Fountain Fletcher residents will soon have more opportunities to come together if this crowdfunding campaign reaches its goal of raising $17,500 by July 1, 2023.
If successful, the project led by the Fountain Fletcher District and Southeast Neighborhood Development will receive a matching grant as part of the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s (IHCDA) CreatINg Places program.
“We’re thrilled to see the many enhancements planned for the Fountain Fletcher Plaza,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch, Indiana’s Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. “This area continues to showcase an exciting vision for the future, and this project will bring immediate positive change for the community and a lasting impact for years to come.”
Funds from this campaign will be used to purchase tools and resources including brightly colored, portable cafe tables and chairs, sound equipment, a new playground set, area lighting, and a movable gallery wall, and will provide support to local artists.
“The Plaza holds so much potential for community building and showcasing our creative talent in Fountain Fletcher,” said Laura Giffel, District Manager for the Fountain Fletcher District. “With these additional items, we will be able to activate this space year-round and provide quality community programming that was difficult in the past.”
Since the CreatINg Places program began in 2016, projects have raised more than $8.2 million in public funds and an additional $6.8 million in matching IHCDA funds. The program is available to projects located in Indiana communities. Non-profit entities (with 501c3 or 501c4 status) and local units of government are eligible to apply. Eligible projects must have a minimum total development cost of $10,000, where the recipient will receive $5,000 in IHCDA matching funds should it successfully raise $5,000 through Patronicity. IHCDA will provide matching grant funds of up to $50,000 per project.
