Three arrested after an altercation on Dewey Avenue in Washington

WASHINGTON – On Sunday, June 11, at approximately 12:04 a.m., officers with the Washington Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Dewey Avenue after a report of an altercation.

Officers discovered that the caller had been struck in the head with a handgun and that a round had been fired during the altercation.

Detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene.

After further investigation, the detective applied for and was granted a search warrant for a residence on Maple Street. At approximately 6:25 a.m.that warrant was served by members of the Washington Police Department Emergency Response Team and Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Strategic Response Unit.

As a result, police arrested 29-year-old Santos Momplaisir, 33-year-old Harry Joseph, and 33-year-old Ben Monesil on charges of battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, and residential entry. All three men are being held without bond in the Daviess County Security Center.

This is the 6th shooting incident investigated by the Washington Police Department in the last year and all cases have resulted in criminal charges being filed.
