Police find meth in woman’s purse and make an arrest

OOLITIC – A Bloomington woman was arrested on drug charges on Wednesday, June 21 after Oolitic Sgt. Ryan Duckett conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Main Street and Hoosier Avenue.

Police say the driver of the silver Toyota SUV was traveling 45 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone.

The driver of the vehicle was Jami Vincent, of Bloomington, who told police her driver’s license was suspended.

Also in the vehicle were Jami’s 2-year-old son and her mother 58-year-old Jill Vincent, all of Bloomington.

Arriving on the scene to assist was Town Marshal James Harrington.

Sgt. Duckett issued Jami a citation for driving while her driver’s license was suspended and issued her a warning for speeding.

Jamie gave officers permission to search her vehicle and Jill gave officers permission to search her purse.

Jill admitted to doing meth three days ago and then changed her story to a month ago. In Jill’s purse police found hollow ink pens and a pill container all with meth residue, and a pill container that contained a liquid substance, identified as synthetic urine.

Jill was detained on charges of possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of synthetic urine and transported to jail.

Officers gave the toddler a stuffed dog and four stickers. Jami parked the vehicle and called a licensed driver to pick her and her son up.
