JACKSON CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP began in June on an asphalt resurfacing project on State Road 11 between State Road 250 and US 50 in Jackson County.
As part of that project, crews plan to close State Road 11 next week between County Road 300 North and Burkhart Boulevard Bypass to replace a small structure.
On or after Monday, August 7, State Road 11 will close to traffic for up to 20 days at Grassy Fork Creek. Traffic will be routed along the official detour, which follows State Road 250 to I-65 to US 50. Local traffic will have access up to the point of closure.
The $2.6 million resurfacing contract was awarded to Milestone in May and is scheduled for completion by the end of October. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution and avoid distractions when traveling in and near construction zones.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
