BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department was honored to receive the Patriotic Employer Award from the US Department of Defense/ESGR.
According to Sheriff Greg Day, the department currently has three officers who are active members of the National Guard and Reserves. They are Sgt. Anthony Pope, Sgt. Michael Ramos, and Officer Kenton Carter.
There are 16 mert and jail officers who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
“It is truly our honor to have such dedicated, self-sacrificing men and women serving our community,” added Sheriff Day.
