SCOTT CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor OLCO, Inc. plans to begin work later this month to replace a box culvert on State Road 3 in Scott County.
On or after Monday, August 14, State Road 3 will close between Shea Road and Turley Road for up to 30 days as crews replace the culvert. The closure will take place east of Scottsburg, just under a mile east of the west junction of S.R. 3 and S.R. 56. Local residents will have access up to the point of closure.
During the closure, thru traffic will be routed along the official detour, which follows State Road 203 and State Road 256. This is the second replacement project on the $795,000 contract. Work was completed on State Road 203 in May.
INDOT urges drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using caution, and avoiding distractions when traveling in and near active construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
