FLOYD CO. – The Indiana State Police is investigating a crash that occurred earlier this morning. At approximately 5:51 a.m., New Albany Police Department responded to the intersection of West Street and Albany Street for a pedestrian that was deceased in the roadway.
Officers with New Albany Police Department contacted the Indiana State Police for the investigation. A preliminary investigation by Indiana State Police Detectives and a Crash reconstructionist was able to determine that Jennifer Yatalese, 42, of New Albany was struck by a Hyundai passenger car.
The Floyd County Coroner pronounced Yatalese deceased at the scene.
Drug and alcohol tests were administered to the driver of the Hyundai.
This case will be forwarded to the Floyd County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Drugs and alcohol were not believed to be a factor in this crash.
