Bloomington woman killed in accident on I-69

GREENE CO. – A Bloomington woman was killed and a juvenile was injured in a crash on I-69 Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department responded to the single-vehicle crash at 2:42 p.m. near the 98-mile marker.

According to police, 49-year-old Tonya Allgood was traveling south on I-69 in her 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer when her vehicle veered off the south side of the road and into the meridian. She overcorrected, causing the car to re-enter the roadway and overturn, landing in a ditch on the north side of the interstate.

Allgood was thrown from the car and died at the scene.

Her juvenile passenger was transported by ambulance to IU Health Hospital.
