BEDFORD – An Indianapolis man was arrested on Saturday, August 19th after Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to 4140 Erie Church Road following a report that a male had “gotten physical with her”.
When police arrived at 3:36 p.m. they found 39-year-old Donald Allen intoxicated. The woman had left the campground and was at D&D Star Stop on US 50 East. An officer responded there to speak to the alleged victim.
The female victim had bruises on her arms and alleged the two had been physical with her within the past week but she didn’t want to pursue charges. She also had bruises on her neck.
The woman said the dispute started because she had told Allen he had been drinking too much and needed to stop.
Allen denied injuring the woman and said she suffered the bruising around her neck while they were having sex and she wanted it done. He also claimed that her arm bruising occurred while she was in rehabilitation.
The victim then signed a battery affidavit and Allen was arrested on charges of domestic battery and strangulation.
