Obituary: Jonathon Michael Nikirk

November 26, 1993 – August 29, 2023

Jonathon Michael Nikirk, 29, of Bedford went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 29, 2023.

Born on November 26, 1993, he was the son of Paula (Flinn) Ochs and John Mark Nikirk. Jonathon attended Children’s Church at the Cornerstone Worship Center in Judah, Indiana. He loved singing and dancing. He was very active and loved attending Special Olympics Sports. One of his favorite things to do was go out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Wendy’s, and of course, he also loved McDonald’s. He also loved to watch Godzilla, Sailor Moon, and The Price is Right.

He enjoyed dressing up in costumes as many different superheroes and was our own personal superhero. He loved animals and going to the zoo. Most recently he had become very fond of his caregiver’s doggy. He was a collector of movies of all kinds and action figures such as dinosaurs, Godzilla, and so many more. He was well-known at the Bedford Public Library. He enjoyed swimming, bowling, and going to the movies.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Jonathon is his mother, Paula (Rodney) Ochs of Bedford, IN; father, John Mark (Dawn) Nikirk of Bedford, IN; former stepfather, Perry Lagenour of Williams, IN; siblings, Matthew Craig Nikirk, Coty Lagenour, Drew Lagenour, and Alex Ochs; maternal grandmother, Mary Flinn of Mitchell, IN; paternal grandfather, Delvin Nikirk of Oolitic, IN; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jonathon is preceded in death by his grandmother, L. Jeanette Nikirk; and grandfather, Paul Flinn.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Cornerstone Worship Center with Pastors Aaron and Carrie Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes. Visitation will also be from 9:30am to the service time on Wednesday at the Cornerstone Worship Center.
