BLOOMFIELD – Britta Warren recorded her first career hat trick as Bedford North Lawrence blanked Bloomfield 5-0 during girls high school soccer action on Thursday.
Warren scored twice in the first half, then capped the scoring with a goal midway through the second as the Stars (3-3) won back-to-back matches for the first time since late in the 2020 campaign. They also avenged a disappointing loss to the Cardinals in 2022.
Caelyn Burke and Jolynn Wilson added goals in the second half.
“They had several players on defense, so it was hard to get to the goal,” BNL coach Bret Roberts said. “But we were able to make it happen.
“We had some really good passes tonight. We were not only making good passes through their defense to our forwards, but also combining passes in the midfield.”
The Stars posted their third shutout of the season.
“Our defense was tough again,” Roberts said. “They have a couple of talented girls on their team that tested our defense, but never got through them.”
Game officials ended the contest with two minutes left because of darkness (Bloomfield’s field does not have lights).
BNL will host Columbus East on Tuesday.
