Jay David May, 68, of Bedford, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at the IU Health Hospice House.
Born July 26, 1955, in Bedford, he was the son of Dave and Pauline (Knight) May. He married Kelly Simpson on October 18, 2013.
Jay retired from General Motors after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman Club, Son of the American Legion Gillen Post 33, and Oolitic American Patriot Lodge #750 F & AM. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs & Indiana Hoosiers.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly May of Bedford; children, Chris (Amanda) May of Bedford, Scotty (Julie), and Tyler (Ashlee) Trueblood of Bedford; brother, Larry (Pat) May of Oolitic; sister, Vicki Cooper; grandchildren, Carter and Sydney May and Treyten and Garrison Trueblood; in-laws, Gary and Jo Simpson.
Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 7th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 10th, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Oolitic.
