FRENCH LICK – After finishing Wednesday’s Patoka Lake Athletic Conference event with the fifth-best individual score, Mitchell High School’s Anna Sowders was named to the all-conference team.
Sowders shot a team-best 44 at French Lick’s Valley Links Golf Course. Other scores for the Bluejackets were Keely Merry – 62, Briley Dicks – 57, Lila Willoughby – 66 and Addi Kirkman – 60.
Mitchell scored 223 on the evening, placing them third at the event. Springs Valley took first place and the conference crown, with a collective score of 172, with Dallas Hendrix earning the event medal for the Blackhawks, shooting 37.
The day prior, the Bluejackets competed against Edgewood and Owen Valley at the Cascades Golf Course in Bloomington.
Sowders earned the event medal for Mitchell, shooting an event-leading 42. The Bluejackets finished in second, with a score of 238. Edgewood emerged victorious, shooting 233. Owen Valley scored 244.
