INDIANA – Hold onto your broomsticks! It’s officially spooky season, and according to a recent survey conducted by TopCashback.com (TopCashback), almost two-thirds (63%) of American parents steal candy from their kid’s Halloween haul.
The survey polled a cross-section of 1,315 US-based adults, aged 18 and over.
Some top findings:
- Reese’s is the number one candy in the US — almost three-fifths (58%) of Americans are fans of these classic chocolate cups.
- Only 44% (about two-fifths) of Americans like candy corn.
- Exactly a quarter (25%) of Americans “ghost” their trick-or-treaters (and pretend they’re not home) on Halloween.
- It’s a Barbie Halloween — nearly three-quarters (71%) of Americans think Barbie/Ken costumes will be the most popular this year.
