RICHMOND – Yesterday morning, troopers from the Indiana State Police Pendleton District arrested a felon in unlawful possession of a firearm in Wayne County.
On November 16, 2023, at approximately 2:32 a.m., Trooper Clayton Fox was patrolling near S. H Street and S. 7th Street in Richmond when he stopped a Chevrolet Trailblazer for an equipment violation. Trooper Fox spoke to the driver and identified her as Christina Parks, 37, of Richmond, Indiana.
During the traffic stop, Trooper Fox noticed indicators of criminal activity and requested the assistance of another officers. A short time later, Richmond Police Sergeant Brouse and his police dog, Uzi, arrived to assist Trooper Fox. Police dog Uzi performed an open-air sniff of the car and gave a positive indication of the presence of narcotics. Officers searched Parks and discovered she had methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia. A further search of the vehicle discovered that Parks was also in possession of a sawed-off shotgun. Â
Christina Parks was arrested and preliminarily charged with:
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm – Level 5 Felony.
- Possession of Methamphetamine – Level 5 Felony.
- Possession of Paraphernalia – Class A Misdemeanor.
- Driving While Suspended – Class A Misdemeanor.
- Listening to a Police Radio While Committing a Crime – Class B Misdemeanor.
Assisting in this incident were Trooper Avery Weisbrodt, Richmond Police Department, and Countryside Towing.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
