BLOOMINGTON – After careful consideration, the Middle Way House leadership team closed Rise & Shine Childcare, the agency’s in-house childcare program. This step was an action in Middle Way House’s currently unfolding Sustainability Plan, which involves reviewing each program for its mission alignment and sustainability.
“The time has come for us to look at our services through the lens of sustainability; the decision to close Rise and Shine was not something we took lightly. I am so proud to see how our team came together to support the families in finding appropriate care for their children to ease this difficult transition.” Middle Way House advocates worked with families to identify their needs. They connected them to area childcare, including New Hope for Families, the Bloomington Center for Global Children, Monroe County Headstart, and Kid Angles. Parents could take tours of the facilities and make an informed decision about their children’s care. As Middle Way House accepts new clients needing childcare, advocates will continue to assist parents in navigating childcare assistance programs, finding local childcare, and continuing relationships with the aforementioned facilities.
Middle Way House invites the community’s support as they navigate their Sustainability Plan. They remain dedicated to providing the best possible care to survivors. As Middle Way House leadership reflects on the agency’s 50+ years of service, they look forward to continuing to adapt services to care for our ever-evolving community while staying centered on what matters most: the clients,” said Carrie Stillions, Middle Way House Executive Director.
