MARION – Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is proud to announce it will host the Court of Appeals of Indiana for its Appeals on Wheels program on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. This engaging event will take place from 11:00 a.m. until Noon at the Phillippe Performing Arts Center, with doors opening at 10:00 a.m.
Appeals on Wheels, the Court of Appeals’ award-winning civics education program, brings the legal process to life by conducting real, live oral arguments at various locations throughout Indiana. This initiative aims to enhance public understanding of the crucial role the judiciary plays in the state’s government. It also provides a unique opportunity for citizens to engage with Court of Appeals judges in informal and informative settings.
This enlightening event offers attendees the chance to witness live oral arguments in the case of Billy Weathers v. State of Indiana. The program will include a 20-minute audience question and answer session, providing an opportunity for direct interaction with the participating attorneys and judges.
