INDIANA – A Pekin man accused of fatally shooting a man in the Taylor-Berry neighborhood in Louisville earlier this month was arrested in Ohio over the weekend, according to Louisville Metro Police.
On Monday, authorities said 29-year-old Shaveon D. Boyd was charged with murder for the fatal shooting in the 3300 block of Utah Avenue on Tuesday, January 9.
Police found 31-year-old William Kannamore had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Officers performed life-saving measures and applied a chest seal and a tourniquet. Kannamore was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and later died from his injuries.
Boyd, from Pekin, Indiana, was arrested in Fayette County, Ohio, this weekend.
Boyd remains in custody in Ohio while awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
